Carolyn Livengood Mr. San Brun

BOB MARSHALL SR., aka "Mr. San Bruno," livened up Linden Avenue at Jenevein Avenue in San Bruno with an outdoor, Western-themed 50th- anniversary celebration of his company, Marshall Realty, at 683 Jenevein Ave.

About 700 people, many in Western attire and sporting souvenir sheriff badges gifted by Marshall, attended the party, which featured music by Al Tovar's West Bay Rhythm. Great food and beverages, pony rides and a petting zoo also highlighted the event.

Before opening his firm in 1959 and becoming its CEO, Marshall sold shoes in San Francisco, followed by a stint in the Army. After returning from duty in Asia, he became a Realtor, thanks to the encouragement of his mother-in-law, Augi Liberti. He sold his first home on Bayshore Circle in San Bruno for $7,500 on his first day as a Realtor in 1959.

In 1963, Marshall earned his broker's license and opened his own company on Kains Avenue in San Bruno. In 1978, he moved Marshall Realty to Jenevein Avenue. It is now one of the largest independent real estate companies in San Mateo County.

A former San Bruno mayor (1980-91), Marshall has performed many years of outstanding service to clients throughout the Bay Area. His myriad achievements include being a founding member of San Bruno's Sister City Committee with Narita, Japan, in 1989 and a founding member of the Peninsula Bank of Commerce.
